The Mid-Semester Slump...

We're halfway through the semester! That should be a relief, right?

You would think! As students, we start the semester excited to learn, on top of our assignments, and giving it our best efforts. You are just getting back into the swing of things, and that is when the quality of work is the highest. The beginning of the semester is also typically lower on the number of assignments.

When the middle of October rolls around, you are ready for a break. Your brain and body are exhausted from the effort of trying to balance everything going on in your life. For many grad students, that includes work, family, school, and every little task that seems to appear in a day. Burnout is real!

So, as we approach the middle of this semester, be sure to take a moment to yourself and do something you enjoy or spend more time with the people you love. Not only will this renew your energy, but it will also help you refocus on what you are in this program for!

I'm going to be practicing yoga to rest my energies when they are feeling a bit low. What will you be doing?
