Opportunity

 Going through life in grad school you are presented with so many opportunities. Whether you have dreamed about an opportunity or not, sometimes they fall right into your lap.

As we head into the brief spring break (but still longer than fall break) period, I am starting to reflect on the numerous opportunities I have been presented since starting the MPA program in August - specifically one that is rapidly approaching!

This semester I took a 7-week course that studied the criminal justice systems of Scotland and England and we were able to compare it to that of the United States'! Now that the course has concluded, we will be traveling to London (England), Glasgow (Scotland), and Edinburgh (Scotland) from March 3rd-12th. While we are overseas, we get to visit a variety of places and participate in some cool tours. The thing I am most anticipative about is the Jack the Ripper tour and visiting the Tower of London, but I'm truly excited about everything. 

This will be the first time I'm leaving the country and I am very glad I took this opportunity and the NKU MPA programmed helped me do it. Never did I imagine in a million years that graduate students were able to participate in study abroad programs, not did I anticipate that it would work out just perfectly for me and my interests! I can't wait to share the details of my trip when I get back :)
